This program is for senior university students and graduates who wish to explore various career paths and seek guidance from seasoned professionals. Mentors and mentees from last year will share their experiences, and TYPEA directors will answer any question you may have. Date: Saturday, January 23, 2009 Location: North York Civic Centre Time: 2-4pm Fee: $10 administration fee for members, $30 for non-members (includes TYPEA membership and $10 administration fee) Drinks and light refreshments will be served. Former Presidnet Candy Chen, current President Keri Liu, and the Director of Technology Leon Yen all gave a short talk to share their experiences with young students, parents and guests. Directors Anne Hsieh, Peter Chiu, and Alice Wang were also present to greet the guests and introduce TYPEA to university students and young professionals who are interested in expanding their networks. -------------------- 2009 Taipei Cup Basketball Tournament The 10th Annual 2009 Taipei Cup Basketball Tournament organized by TYPEA and sponsored by TESTT took place on November 28 and 29 at Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Cultural Centre. Twelve teams registered and competed in the tournament this year. TYPEA hopes that this event offers a platform for Taiwanese communities to interact with the Canadian society in Toronto. There was also an entertaining exhibition match between TECOT/Media and TESTT/TYPEA to the exciting event. The winners of Taipei Cup were awarded with a championship trophy, medals, and prizes. The prize for the 1st place team was a $250 gift certificate from the Mandarin. The 2nd place winner received a $200 restaurant certificate. The 3rd place team received a $150 Boston Pizza gift certificate. The top 3 teams were Kagers, Titans, and Brotherhood. Congratulations! -------------------- TYPEA Holiday Potluck Dinner Party a Success What better way to celebrate the holiday season other than meeting new friends and having fun? More than 30 people did just that at the TYPEA Holiday Potluck Dinner Party held on December 18, 2009. Thank you, everyone who came out in the cold to have a blast with us.
